The Steering Group

Mark Bacon

Hi, my name is Mark Bacon the newly nominated TDP Chair.

I took up my first headship post in September 2012 at Churchdown Village Junior School – the school that I attended as a child! Prior to this, I worked for 2 years as Deputy Head and Year 6 teacher at Rodborough Community Primary School and before that I worked at Longlevens Junior School, where I started as a PGCE student and worked my way to Deputy Head. I am a qualified MaST (Maths Specialist) teacher and have completed various tasks for the LEA including maths support, teaching & learning support and APP conferences.

Jane Farren

I am the head teacher at Norton Primary School. Norton is a village school with 130 on role and a pre-school on site. Our intake is mixed and includes a high percentage of children from the Gypsy Roma Traveller community. I have a strong, skilled and united staff team. Prior to headship I was a class teacher specialising in year 6 and leading Literacy and Numeracy. I am an active member of the steering group and am Vice Chair of TDP.

Liam Jordan

I qualified as a teacher in 1996 and spent my NQT year teaching in a large primary school in Oxfordshire. I moved to Gloucestershire in 1998 and taught at Hardwicke Primary (3 years) and Gotherington Primary (2 years). I joined St Thomas More Catholic Primary School in Cheltenham as ‘senior teacher’ in 2003 and was appointed acting head a year later. The ‘acting’ element of the role became permanent after a year and I spent the next two years ‘enjoying’ life as a new head.

I took-up my current role as head teacher at St Mary’s Catholic Primary, Churchdown in January 2007. The intervening years have been very enjoyable and relatively uneventful. The school became an academy in August 2011.  St Mary’s been part of the Tewkesbury District Partnership from the outset and I know that we have benefitted greatly from our involvement. Last year I joined the steering group of the partnership and look forward to playing an active role in the on-going development of the partnership in the future

Lisa Quelcuti

I am Headteacher of a primary school in Tewkesbury. I joined the steering group in 2015 and am involved with leading the Early Years Cluster Group. I have experience of teaching throughout Key Stages 1 & 2 and in Early Years. I like to explore new ideas and have an eye for innovation. I believe it is important to cultivate creativity and to encourage original, imaginative thinking. I enjoy learning new things and continue to stay curious. I also love a good cup of tea!
